In 2007, Ranger Protection Agency was founded by Brian Kelley and the late David Jarrett out of desperation, not inspiration, due to the years of frustration with local law enforcement and private security companies that, at that time, offered little to no help cleaning up properties they owned, controlled and managed.
Recognizing the need for a proactive, results-driven private security firm, Brian and David began forming a proactive, results-driven approach to protecting properties for Austin and surrounding communities.

Before the creation of Ranger, most companies took a passive "observe and report, don't get involved" approach to protecting properties. It didn't take long for criminals to take notice and fully take advantage of the opportunities this created. Utilizing a "resolve and report" method, our experience, knowledge, and authorization aid us in resolving issues as they arise. We solve problems, not just report them.
